APT`s contribution to multi-channel i.e. 5.1 or 7.1 audio transportation is the unique WorldNet SkyLink. This unit is the culmination of a joint development program between APT and George Lucas's Skywalker Sound. Designed as a tool for Remote Directors Approvals, the SkyLink offers Enhanced 16, 20 & 24 bit Enhanced apt-X® as the core compression algorithms.

The Skylink encoder is a rack-mounted unit that will be designed to accept surround sound audio mixes so that they can be compressed for transmission over an external IP Network. The receiver on the other end of this network will be a Skylink decoder, also a rack-mounted unit, which will download the compressed audio from the network, through a password protected system and reproduce the surround sound audio mix for playback through external audio equipment.
